Welcome Greg Himpfen,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your location keeps turning off when using OLG, requiring you to set your Ontario location again.
Could you clarify whether Windows Location services itself switches back to Off, or whether Location services remains On but OLG stops recognizing your Ontario location?
Please make sure you already tried the Q&A Assist steps. In addition, please try the following:
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
1, Check for Windows updates.
- Open Settings > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates and install any available updates.
- Restart the computer afterward.
2, If you use Microsoft Edge, reset OLG's previously stored location permission.
- Open Microsoft Edge > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissions > Location.
- Check the sites listed under the location permissions and remove the existing OLG entry if present.
- Return to OLG and allow location access again when prompted.
3, Temporarily disable any VPN or proxy connection and test OLG again. These services may cause websites to determine a different region from the device's actual location.
4, Test the OLG site in another browser. If Windows Location services stays enabled but the problem occurs only in one browser, this helps determine whether the issue is related to that browser's site permissions.
5, Test OLG using a different network, such as another trusted Wi-Fi connection. Windows can use nearby Wi-Fi information and the IP address as part of determining the device's location.
Looking forward to your update.
