    Hi Helen Boycourt,

I’d like to narrow this down a bit before suggesting more troubleshooting. Could you share the exact Surface Pro model, the printer make and model, and whether you’re using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

Also, when you try to add the printer, does it not appear at all or does it appear but fail with an error message or code?

Since you may have already gone through the usual printer setup steps, I’d next check the printer manufacturer’s support site for the latest driver or setup software specifically for that printer model. If you’ve already tried the manufacturer’s software, please let me know whether it detects the printer and what happens during installation.

Those details should help narrow down whether this is a driver/compatibility issue or something specific to how the printer is being detected.
