Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Yep - you can switch from an annual Microsoft 365 plan to a monthly plan, although the process depends on whether you have a Personal/Family account or a Business account.
For Microsoft 365 Personal or Family, you can schedule a change to your billing frequency so that the subscription switches to monthly when the current annual term expires. Go to your Microsoft Account Services & Subscriptions, select Manage next to your subscription, and look for an option to change your payment or billing schedule.
If the interface does not provide a direct option to change the billing frequency, you can turn off recurring billing and allow the current annual subscription to run until its expiration date. Once the annual subscription expires, you can subscribe to a monthly plan using the same Microsoft account. You will not lose your OneDrive files during this transition because the subscription remains active through the end of the paid annual term.
For Microsoft 365 Business plans, a global administrator can make the change through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Go to Billing > Your products, select the subscription, and choose Edit settings under Subscription length & billing frequency. If the option is available, select Pay monthly and save the change.
For business subscriptions, a billing-frequency change will typically take effect at the next renewal date rather than immediately. Depending on the subscription, Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) terms and billing configuration may also restrict mid-term changes, meaning you may need to wait until the current commitment ends.
