Azure Artifact Signing organization identity validation stuck at Action Required

I created an Organization identity validation for Azure Artifact Signing. The status changed to Action Required and I completed the requested Microsoft Verified ID identity verification using Microsoft Authenticator.

The identity verification completed successfully, but the Artifact Signing organization validation still shows Action Required. If I follow the verification link again, I no longer have access to the verification session.

Is there normally a delay after completing Verified ID before the organization validation returns to In Progress, or is another action required? How can I determine what specific requirement is still outstanding?

Yes. After the individual Verified ID step is completed successfully, the organization identity validation status is expected to change back to In Progress while the rest of the validation continues.

    The expected flow is:

    1. Create the organization identity validation request.
    2. Status changes to In Progress.
    3. If individual identity verification is needed, status changes to Action Required.
    4. Complete the individual identity validation from the link sent to the primary email address.
    5. After individual identity validation completes successfully, the status changes back to In Progress.
    6. If more documents are needed, the status changes to Action Required again and an email is sent.
    7. Final status becomes Completed or Failed.

To determine what is still outstanding:

    • In the Azure portal, open the Artifact Signing account.
    • Go to Objects > Identity validations.
    • Open the validation request and check its current status.
    • Check the primary email inbox for status-update emails or requests for more documentation.
    • If the request is still Action Required, that indicates another required step remains, such as additional documentation.

If the Verified ID session link no longer works after successful completion, that by itself does not indicate failure. The documented behavior is that the process continues after individual identity validation succeeds.

If the status does not move from Action Required after a reasonable processing period, use the documented support paths:

    • Create a support ticket in the Azure portal.
    • Post on Microsoft Q&A with the Artifact Signing tag.
    • Post on Stack Overflow with the trusted-signing tag.
