This block is typically an automated security restriction triggered by unusual activity, repeated requests, or signals from the browser, device, or network.
Try these steps in order:
- Stop all new sign-up attempts for at least 24 hours. Repeated attempts can keep the block active or reset the wait time.
- Turn off any VPN, proxy, ad blocker, or privacy extension.
- Clear the browser cache, make sure JavaScript is enabled, and try again in a normal browser window instead of Incognito/InPrivate.
- Try a different browser or device.
- Try a different network, such as switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data.
- If the sign-in or verification flow offers another verification method, use that instead.
- If the block does not clear after 24 hours, wait longer without repeated attempts. Guidance indicates blocks can sometimes clear after a longer period, up to 1 week.
If the account is already created but locked, sign in at https://account.microsoft.com. If the Let’s prove you’re human option does not appear, use the aka.ms/ link shown in the lock window and submit the account reinstatement form. After submission, do not send additional requests, because that can slow the review.
If the issue is specifically with an Outlook.com account being temporarily blocked, the supported action is to reset the password to unblock it.
If self-service steps do not work, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper or contact Microsoft support through the account help options.
