Voice features require an eligible Microsoft subscription, and availability also depends on region.
For Microsoft Copilot:
- Dictation lets spoken words become text instead of typing.
- Copilot Voice lets a spoken back-and-forth conversation happen with Copilot.
Availability by account type:
- Dictation: available for work or school accounts.
- Copilot Voice: available for work or school and personal accounts.
If voice is available for the account, start it by:
- Opening Copilot.
- Selecting the Voice icon for a voice conversation, or Start dictation to speak a prompt.
- Allowing microphone access if prompted.
Voice features are not currently available for users without a Microsoft Copilot license, although broader availability is planned.
