Hi Microsoft,

When can we expect the collapse all by subject feature to come to the new Outlook?

This feature was available and extremely valuable in the Classic Outlook version.

If we sort emails in a folder by subject, we used to be able to right click on a grouped section, and select "Collapse all". That feature is no longer available (see screenshot below).

Looking forward to hearing back!

Thank you

Hi KS

Based on my research, at this time, New Outlook for Windows does not support the same one-click “Collapse All Groups” functionality available in Classic Outlook. While individual groups can be expanded or collapsed, there is currently no equivalent command to collapse all grouped sections at once, including when messages are grouped or sorted by subject.

Regarding when this functionality will be introduced, there is currently no confirmed release date available for the Collapse All Groups feature in New Outlook. Microsoft has received feedback regarding this missing functionality, but a specific timeline for its availability has not been announced.

I would recommend submitting this request through Help > Feedback within New Outlook. You can also add your feedback to an existing request for the Collapse All functionality if you find one that matches your scenario. Feedback submitted through these channels helps the Outlook product team understand how important a particular feature is to users.

In the meantime, if Collapse All is an important part of your workflow and your organization still provides access to Classic Outlook, continuing to use Classic Outlook for this particular workflow would be the practical workaround until equivalent functionality becomes available in New Outlook.

Just a quick note that this is a public Microsoft Community forum, where users and community members share information and suggestions with one another. Therefore, members do not have direct visibility into Microsoft’s internal development plans or release schedules.

I hope this information helps
