I am trying to login using the authenticator but the page that flashes for me to put in the request does not appear. I do not get the verification code also. I deleted the app and refreshed it. Changed from Wi-Fi to data, all the option are not working.

    Try these checks in order:

    1. Open Microsoft Authenticator manually instead of waiting for the pop-up. If the sign-in is using number matching, the prompt can be waiting inside the app even when no notification appears.
    2. Make sure the app is unlocked. If Authenticator is locked, the entry box might not appear.
    3. In the device settings, verify notifications are enabled for Microsoft Authenticator. In the app, go to Settings > Notification Settings and make sure Show notifications is turned on.
    4. Make sure the app is updated. Microsoft does not support Authenticator app versions more than 12 months old.
    5. Check connectivity again: switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, make sure Airplane mode is off, and if a VPN is enabled, disconnect it temporarily.
    6. Check the device Date & time settings and make sure they are correct.
    7. In Authenticator, go to Settings and select Turn off battery optimization for better sync performance.
    8. Restart the phone, then try signing in again.
    9. If the sign-in request still does not appear, open Authenticator and pull down to refresh.
    10. If no push prompt arrives, check whether a verification code was delivered silently by text message.

If the app was deleted and reinstalled, and the account can no longer approve sign-in or generate a code, the next step depends on the account type:

    • Work or school account: contact the IT admin to reset MFA or allow re-registration.
    • Personal Microsoft account: on the sign-in page, select Use a different verification method if available. If no working method is available, follow the account recovery prompts.

If the issue continues after the steps above, capture logs from Authenticator using Send feedback from the app menu/settings, then contact Support for personal accounts or the IT admin/helpdesk for work or school accounts.
