Trouble signing into Family Safety App

When I try to log in to the family safety app, it attempts to send a code to my email to log in. Then instead of sending the code, I get an error message that says I hit my limit on codes to send to my email. How do get logged into the family safety app?

    Hello,

This error usually appears when you request the Verification code repeatedly to your recovery contact methods within a short period of time. For security reasons, Microsoft temporarily blocks your account for 24 hours.

So, avoid requesting the verification code for the next 24 hours, then try logging in to the Family Safety app. Note that repeated sign-in requests may reset any time lock set on your account.

    • After 24 hours have passed, connect your device to another Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile network/hotspot, and then try requesting the verification code.
    • See if you receive the verification code this time.

Sometimes the block may be tied to a specific Wi-Fi network you're connected to.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Stop requesting more codes for now. Repeated requests can trigger a temporary block. Wait at least 24 hours before trying again, and if it still does not clear, wait longer — up to 1 week. Do not keep retrying during that time.
    2. Use another verification method if one is already connected to the Microsoft account. For example, if email is blocked, try another method such as a different email, phone, face, fingerprint, PIN, security key, or approval through a mobile app when available.
    3. Try a different network. Switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, or use another Wi‑Fi network.
    4. Try another device to sign in.
    5. If the Family Safety app is the only place showing the issue, update or reinstall the app and then try again.
    6. Use the Microsoft Sign-in helper to identify the sign-in problem and available support options: Sign-in helper
    7. If needed, contact Microsoft Support through: Contact Support

    Important:

    • Support agents cannot send verification codes or change account details.
    • If prompted to verify or add security info, complete that process before signing in again.
    • Avoid changing all security info at the same time, because that can restrict the account for 30 days.
