If your Surface was returned from Microsoft warranty repair with the wrong Windows edition and the original power adapter is missing, I would not recommend purchasing anything or reinstalling Windows until Microsoft reviews the repair case.
First, confirm which Windows edition is currently installed:
Check the Windows edition
Press Win + R.
Type winver and press Enter.
Note the Windows version and edition shown.
You can also check:
Settings → System → About → Windows specifications → Edition
If the Surface originally came with Windows 11 Home but was returned with Windows 11 Pro, or vice versa, take a screenshot of this page.
You can also open Command Prompt and run:
DISM /Online /Get-CurrentEdition
This will show the current Windows edition.
Since the incorrect edition and missing adapter occurred after Microsoft's warranty repair, contact Microsoft Support and reference the repair/service order number. Ask them to:
Restore the Windows edition that was originally licensed for the device.
Provide the missing power adapter.
Correct both issues under the existing repair case without charging you.
Keep the repair paperwork and photograph the contents of the package you received. These are useful if the case needs to be escalated.
