How to fix all docs opening at 94% size

I shut down all MS Office aps, removed dotm and trashed it, reopened Word. All my Word documents continue to open at 94%. This began happening suddenly to all files when previously it was not a problem.

Note that Word doesn't store the zoom for individual documents or templates. When you close the last open document, the zoom ratio is preserved and applied the next time you start Word (applies to all documents alike, old and new).

EDIT: Given the new information regarding the platform (Word for Mac), I removed a Windows-specific suggestion from this reply.

That is not the problem. I can zoom any doc manually. Changing zoom level to most recent open doc does not affect the fact that any new doc opened opens at 94%. I do not want to have to resize every document I open, and until a week ago I did not have to.

Thanks for the follow-up. This raises the question, what changed in Word a week ago? Did you install or update an add-in, for example?

Nothing changed that I am aware of. No installs of any kind of ap, no updates of anything.

I just realized that I selected the wrong tag for this inquiry. I have Office Home and Business (2021) for Mac, not for Windows.
