    Hi Steven,

    I hope you've been well.

You can try removing the incorrect address directly from the suggested recipients list:

    1. Open a new email in New Outlook for Mac.
    2. Start typing the incorrect name or email address in the To, Cc, or Bcc field.
    3. When the incorrect address appears in the suggestion list, move your pointer over it.
    4. Select the X displayed to the right of the address to remove or hide it from future suggestions.

If the address continues to appear, please check whether it is saved in your Outlook Contacts. If it is, update or delete the incorrect contact information.

Additional guidance: Manage suggested recipients in the To, Cc, and Bcc boxes with Auto-Complete in Outlook for Mac

If the address comes from your organization’s address directory, you may not be able to edit it yourself. In that case, please contact your IT administrator and ask them to verify or update the directory entry.

I hope this information helps move the case forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.

In Outlook for Mac, obsolete auto-populated addresses are managed from the suggested contacts list while composing a message.

    1. Create, reply to, or forward an email.
    2. In the To, Cc, or Bcc field, start typing the incorrect address or name.
    3. When the unwanted suggestion appears, select the X to the right of that suggestion.
    4. That removes it from the suggestion list and hides it from Microsoft 365 suggestions in apps such as Outlook and Teams.

If the address needs to appear again later, send to it by replying to an old message or typing the full address in a new message. It can reappear after about 24 hours.

If many bad suggestions need to be cleared, the suggested contact search data can be reset:

    1. Go to account.microsoft.com for the account.
    2. Open Privacy > Privacy Dashboard.
    3. Under Privacy Expanded People Suggestions, stop collection and delete existing suggested contact search data.

    Notes:

    • This clears suggested contact search data, including expanded people suggestions, and it cannot be recovered.
    • Saved personal contacts will still be suggested unless the contact itself is deleted.
    • Organization contacts can still be suggested unless removed by the organization administrator.
