For a personal Surface Laptop 7, the supported paths are:
- Check warranty status immediately at https://account.microsoft.com/devices.
- If the device is not listed, use Register device first.
- This shows the coverage dates and lets the repair process start before the warranty expires.
- Create a repair/service request with Microsoft.
- For personal devices, Microsoft supports Send to Microsoft service, which requires creating a service order and printing a shipping label.
- Use in-person support if available in the region.
- Microsoft also lists Authorized Service Providers for in-person support and repair in some countries or regions.
- If the device still will not charge or power on, use the Surface support entry points.
- Open the Surface app, describe the problem, and select Get Help.
- If the device cannot be used, open Get Help online for other support options.
- If this is a work or school-owned device, contact the organization’s IT helpdesk or admin instead of using the personal-device flow.
For a business-owned Surface, an IT admin can submit a support request in the Microsoft 365 admin center:
- Go to Support → Microsoft Surface support.
- Select Create support request.
- Review suggested troubleshooting.
- If needed, select Contact support.
- Choose phone or email as the preferred contact method.
Because the device already failed charging and power-on checks and an authorized provider could not complete the repair, the practical next step is to start the Microsoft service request now so the case is opened before warranty expiry.
