Hi Diana Threatt,
I understand how concerning it can be to see faint duplicate text on the screen after a liquid incident. Because the issue began after liquid exposure, the display or another internal component may have been affected. This type of issue may not be resolved by changing Windows settings or reinstalling the display driver.
If the Surface may still contain moisture, please turn it off, disconnect the charger and accessories, and avoid continuing to use or charge it. Please also avoid applying heat or attempting to open the device yourself.
Could you confirm the following details?
- Which Surface Pro model are you using?
- When did the liquid incident occur?
- Does the duplicated image appear as soon as the Surface logo is displayed, or only after Windows starts?
- Is the device becoming unusually warm or showing any other abnormal behavior?
If the Surface is currently operating normally and it is safe to do so, please back up your important files before arranging service, as data may be erased during the inspection or repair process.
Because the problem began after liquid exposure, I recommend checking the available repair or replacement options through Microsoft’s official service page: Get service for an out-of-warranty or damaged Surface
You can also sign in on the Microsoft account Devices page, select or register the Surface, check its warranty status, and follow the available options to create a service request. When prompted for the issue type, select the option relating to liquid or physical damage.
Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum, so contributors cannot physically inspect the Surface or determine the repair eligibility from here. A service technician will need to assess whether the affected display or device can be repaired or requires replacement. Thank you so much for your understanding.
