Hello Lakshmikanth,
Thank you for posting question on the Microsoft Windows Forum!
If you are being prompted for a BitLocker Recovery Key, Windows cannot generate or recover a new key if the original recovery key has not been saved. The recovery key must be retrieved from one of the locations where it was stored when BitLocker was enabled.
Please check the following locations:
- Microsoft Account
If you signed in to Windows using a Microsoft account, check:
https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey
Sign in with the same Microsoft account used on the device.
- Work or School Device
If the computer belongs to an organization, the recovery key may be stored in:
- Sign in to the Company Portal website.
- Go to Devices.
- Select the locked PC.
- Select Get recovery key.
- Select Show recovery key.
- Copy the 48-character key and enter it on the BitLocker recovery screen.
If BitLocker recovery keys are stored in Microsoft Entra ID, they can be accessed at https://myaccount.microsoft.com:
7. Open the Devices tab.
- Select the owned Windows device.
- Select View BitLocker Keys.
- Saved Copy
When BitLocker was enabled, the recovery key may have been:
- Saved to a file
- Printed
- Saved on a USB drive
- Stored in a password manager
- Check Another Administrator Account
If another administrator enabled BitLocker on the device, they may have saved the recovery key during setup.
