Deactivation of USB and keyboard cover

Hi mahmoud alavi,

I understand how inconvenient it is to lose both the USB port and keyboard at the same time.

Since both devices still work in UEFI, please try the following:

• Shut down the Surface completely, detach the Type Cover, and disconnect all USB devices.
• Clean the Type Cover connector gently, reconnect it, and then press and hold the Power button for about 20 seconds to force a restart.
• Open the Surface app and install any available updates. Also check Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, including optional driver updates.
• In Device Manager, check whether any entries under Keyboards, Human Interface Devices, or Universal Serial Bus controllers show a warning symbol.

Could you also let me know whether this started after a Windows update, driver installation, or system reset? Additionally, does Device Manager display the Type Cover and USB controllers?

If the issue continues after all updates are installed, you may need to reinstall Windows using the official Surface recovery image. Please back up your important files before proceeding.
