I have a model 1943 surface laptop go. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a difference in which direction to plug in the charging cable on the laptop. It fits both directions. I it a long round plug in with the plug in part on the side. Should the end face the front or the back of the computer?

Thanks

    Hi tamarpalm,

The Surface Connect charger can be attached in either direction, so the cable can face either the front or the back of your Surface Laptop Go. There is no preferred orientation.

Simply connect it in whichever direction is more convenient. Once the charger is connected to power, the small light on the connector should turn on.

I hope this clears things up! Thank you so much for your understanding.

There is no difference. The Surface Connect charging connector can be plugged into the Surface Connect port in either direction.

For Surface Laptop Go models, charging is supported through the Surface Connect port and also through USB-C. When using the Surface Connect charger, the connector is designed to work either way, so the end does not need to face specifically toward the front or the back of the laptop.

A quick check that it is connected correctly:

    1. Plug the charger into the Surface Connect port.
    2. Make sure the connection feels secure.
    3. Check that the LED indicator on the tip of the charging connector is lit.
    4. In Windows, look at the battery icon on the right side of the taskbar. It should show a plug symbol while charging.
