Try this in order:
- Confirm the mouse has power
- Press and hold the pairing button on the mouse for 5–7 seconds.
- If the light blinks, the mouse has power.
- If there is no light, recheck the battery installation or replace the battery again.
- Put the mouse into pairing mode
- Press and hold the pairing button on the bottom of the mouse for 5–7 seconds until the light blinks.
- A blinking light means the mouse is discoverable.
- Pair it on the Surface Pro 7+
- Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Select Add Bluetooth or other device > Bluetooth.
- Choose the mouse from the list, then complete any prompts.
- If the mouse does not appear or will not connect
- Turn airplane mode on and off, leaving it on for 10–15 seconds before turning it off.
- Turn off other Bluetooth devices connected to the Surface temporarily.
- Remove the mouse from the Bluetooth device list if it appears there, then pair it again.
- Test the mouse with another PC. If it works there, the issue may be with the Surface. If it does not, the mouse may be the issue.
- If the pairing light flashes three times and turns off
- The mouse is already paired with another PC nearby.
- Remove it from that PC’s Bluetooth devices list, then return to the Surface and pair it again.
- Update the Surface
- Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install available updates.
If the mouse connects but responds slowly or inconsistently:
- Close open apps.
- Restart the Surface.
- Check Bluetooth battery level in Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- Adjust pointer speed in Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse > Additional mouse options > Pointer Options.
If the mouse still does not connect, use the Surface app and select Get Help, or open Get Help for additional support.
