I cant send any meeting invite from my outlook calendar. Everytime I try to send an invite , I am getting a error message as 'Something went wrong. We couldn't send your calendar event. Waiting a but might help. Keep your calendar event open to try again later'. I even tried to restart my laptop but nothing is working !

    Hi @Chatterjee Arunava,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I would like to provide you with the following information:

You can try the following methods:

Method 1: Try signing out and signing back into the application.

Method 2: Clear the cache for New Outlook:

    • Step 1: Press the Windows + R keys and enter the following path: olk.exe --devtools User's image
    • Step 2: Click on Application. User's image
    • Step 3: Click on Local Storage and Cookie.
    • Step 4: Click on outlook.office.com → select Clear.

Method 3: Send the calendar event through Outlook on the web.

Since you are using a Work or School account, this account is managed and configured by your administrator.

If the issue persists after trying the above methods, you will need to contact your organization’s IT department to check the account configuration and settings.

If you're unable to send meeting invites from Outlook and receiving the error message "Something went wrong. We couldn't send your calendar event," there are a few potential causes and resolutions you can consider:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable, as a poor connection can prevent Outlook from sending invites.
    2. Cached Mode Issues: If you are working in Cached Exchange Mode, try switching to Online Mode to see if that resolves the issue. You can do this by going to File > Account Settings > Account Settings, then selecting your account and clicking on Change. Uncheck the Use Cached Exchange Mode option.
    3. Update Outlook: Make sure your Outlook application is up to date. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer versions.
    4. Disable Add-ins: Third-party add-ins can sometimes interfere with Outlook's functionality. Try disabling them by going to File > Options > Add-ins and managing your add-ins from there.
    5. Repair Outlook: You can try repairing your Outlook installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office, and then click on Change. Choose the repair option.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to your IT support for further assistance.
