Hello Tariku Mersiehazen, welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you are trying to run Power Ge’ez 2010, which is a legacy third-party Amharic/Ge’ez typing tool that provides custom keyboards and fonts for Ethiopic script.

Power Ge’ez 2010 was designed for older versions of Windows and Office, and it often stops working on Windows 11 because the system uses a modern Unicode-based text framework and no longer supports some legacy font and input technologies. This means older drivers and non-Unicode fonts from Power Ge’ez may not function as expected.

Windows 11 already includes full support for Amharic typing and Ethiopic fonts. You can enable this by going to Settings > Time & language > Language & region, selecting Add a language, searching for Amharic, and installing it. After installation, make sure the Amharic keyboard is added under Keyboards. You can switch between keyboards using Win + Space. The built-in Amharic IME supports phonetic typing, and the Nyala font included in Windows will display Ethiopic text correctly in Word, Excel, and other apps.

It looks like you might have accidentally pasted a response or forum answer meant for a technical support thread (such as Microsoft Q&A or a tech forum)!

If you were actually looking for help setting up Amharic typing on Windows 11 without relying on legacy software like Power Ge’ez 2010, here is the direct setup process using Windows' built-in system:

    1

    Open Language Settings

    Requires Windows 11 Settings access

    1.**Open Language Settings:**Requires Windows 11 Settings access.

Press Win + I to open Settings, then navigate to Time & language > Language & region.

    2

    Add Amharic Language Pack

    2.Add Amharic Language Pack:

Click Add a language, search for Amharic, select it, and click Next to install the language pack.

    3

    Verify Keyboard Layout

    3.Verify Keyboard Layout:

Click the three dots (...) next to Amharic, select Language options, and ensure the Amharic Phonetic or standard Amharic keyboard is listed under Keyboards.

    4

    Switch Input Language

    4.Switch Input Language:

Use the shortcut Win + Space to easily toggle between English and Amharic typing across all Windows apps.

The default Nyala font in Windows 11 will automatically render all Ethiopic/Ge'ez unicode script properly in Word, Excel, browsers, and text editors without needing external driver installations.
