I have moved from the UK to Italy and need to update my subscription currency

For a Microsoft 365 subscription for home, the subscription currency cannot be changed directly after moving countries. Microsoft 365 subscriptions are tied to the country or region where they were originally purchased.

Use this path:

1. Turn off recurring billing or cancel the current subscription.
2. Wait until the existing subscription is fully expired.
3. Update the Microsoft account country or region:
   • Go to the Your info page of the Microsoft account dashboard.
   • Select Edit profile info.
   • Change Country or region to Italy.
4. If needed, also update the billing/shipping address in the Microsoft account.
5. After the old subscription is gone, buy a new Microsoft 365 subscription for Italy. The new purchase will use the new country locale and currency.

Important details:

• A subscription for one region cannot be repurchased in another region until the existing subscription is gone.
• Funds in the Microsoft account do not transfer between regions.
• If the current subscription is prepaid, the payment method for that subscription cannot be changed; a new subscription can be bought after it expires.
