Hi,

This top urgent. I have lost my access to the microsoft account in my laptop since today morning. I have been trying to contact live support chat. but Microsoft keeps sending me on never ending bot loops with automatic support. I am terribly upset because of that. I have linked several important professional accounts with this account. and email also not accessible currently in my laptop. its a live.com acccount. today morning I enable 2euro per month basic subscription just to get rid of the ads , then I tried to login to the account in browser to manage security settings, it started telling me, mailbox is not accessible and such. I got panic and tried copilot advices, which was not helping at all.

I am thoroughly dissapointed as a user and seek help . please let me know how can I get in touch with a real person to sort this out without trying bots.

For a personal live.com Microsoft account, the fastest supported path is to start with the Sign-in Helper tool. It checks the account state and routes to the correct recovery steps.

If the account is still recognized but access is blocked:

    1. Open the Sign-in Helper tool.
    2. Enter the email address or phone number for the account.
    3. Follow the prompts it gives for password, username, or verification-code problems.

If the password is correct but the account is no longer working:

    1. Start Recover your account.
    2. Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used to sign in.
    3. Choose where to receive the security code.
    4. Enter the code.
    5. Set a new password.

If the account says “We couldn't find an account with that username” or “account doesn't exist”:

    • Use the Sign-in Helper tool.
    • Also verify the email domain was entered correctly, such as the correct live.com / outlook.com / hotmail.com variant.
    • If another alias or phone number is attached to the account, try that instead.

    If the account is locked:

    1. Try signing in at https://account.microsoft.com.
    2. If prompted, complete Let’s prove you’re human.
    3. If that option does not appear, use the aka.ms/ reinstatement link shown in the lock message and submit the form.
    4. After submission, wait for the Microsoft Online Safety support agent email. Submitting multiple requests can slow the response.

If direct human help is needed:

    • Use I need to talk to a customer support agent.
    • Microsoft support can provide chat or the most appropriate support path depending on the product and account type.
    • Support agents cannot send password reset links or directly change account details for Microsoft accounts.

Important checks based on the symptoms described:

    • If verification codes are failing, use the verification-code troubleshooting path.
    • If the account has not been signed in for more than two years, it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.

    Hi @Tharidu De Silva

I’m sorry you have been unable to access both your account and mailbox, especially when important professional services are connected to them.

Since this began shortly after purchasing the Basic subscription, it would help to separate an account sign-in problem from a mailbox or browser problem. Could you confirm the exact message shown when you sign in at Outlook.com, and whether the same live.com account is still accepted when you sign in to your Microsoft account page?

Please do not post your email address, verification codes, or any other private account information here. Once the exact error is known, it will be easier to identify the appropriate next step without sending you through the same automated recovery loop again.

    Thank you for your time
