    Hello Jacqueline,

Microsoft 365 is available in Ecuador, so you should be able to purchase a subscription there. However, the issue here is related to Microsoft's regional billing restrictions.

As much as I would like to help you, I have to share with you the honest answer/information, that Microsoft doesn't allow such a purchase when the country and its billing address country/currency are not matching. I am very sorry.

Microsoft 365 is sold in Ecuador, but a US voting or mailing address cannot substitute for the credit card’s issuer-registered billing address when purchasing through the Ecuador market.

    Supported purchase setup

Microsoft recognizes Ecuador as a valid Microsoft 365 billing market, with Ecuador-specific pages for Microsoft 365 Personal and Family.^1^ ^2^

For a long-term residence in Ecuador:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft account that will own the subscription.
    2. Open Your info → Edit profile info.
    3. Set Country or region to Ecuador.
    4. Open the Microsoft Store and use the World icon at the bottom to select Ecuador.
    5. Purchase from the Ecuador Microsoft 365 Personal or Family page.
    6. At checkout, enter a payment method and the exact billing address held by its bank or card issuer.

Microsoft requires the billing address to match the payment provider’s records, and not every payment method is supported in every region.^3^

A US-issued card might work only if Microsoft offers it for that checkout and the entered address matches the card issuer’s records. The available documentation does not confirm that Ecuador checkout accepts every US-issued card. Do not enter the US voting address unless it is also the billing address registered for that card.

If an existing US subscription is attached to the account

Microsoft advises selecting the country where the customer will be billed and use the software; choosing another country can cause setup or renewal problems.[^4^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft 365 system requirements | Microsoft Support")

If the account already has a US-region Microsoft 365 subscription:

    1. Turn off renewal or cancel it.
    2. Wait until the existing subscription has fully expired.
    3. Change the Microsoft account region to Ecuador.
    4. Add an eligible payment method with matching billing information.
    5. Purchase a new Ecuador subscription.

A subscription for the new region cannot be purchased while the existing subscription from another region remains active.^5^

Changing region can also be blocked if it was changed within the previous three months, the account is suspended, or an outstanding subscription balance exists.

If the card is still rejected

Because Ecuador availability is confirmed, a continued rejection is a checkout or payment-method issue rather than proof that Microsoft 365 is unavailable there. Use Contact Microsoft Support, enter the billing problem, select Get Help, and then Contact Support. Ask whether that specific US-issued card is eligible for an Ecuador consumer subscription; Microsoft’s public documentation does not provide an Ecuador-specific list of accepted card issuers.^5^
