An invoice has been locked due to a card being declined. Made a contact support request on Azure over 1 week ago and no response to assist with unlocking the invoice. How else can I get into contact with Azure or try to unlocking the invoice.

This was due to Microsoft 365 business billing being locked and telling me to contact azure. Do I need an azure subscription to be able to get my support request answered?? Need to gain access to my microsoft 365 business apps.

No paid Azure support subscription should be required for a billing issue. The locked invoice needs intervention from the Microsoft billing team; since the case is already over a week old and Microsoft 365 access is affected, the appropriate next step is to escalate the existing billing case with the business-impact details.

    Recommendation:

    • Go to Azure Portal → Help + Support → Create a support request → Billing and reference the locked invoice number.
    • Confirm the account is signed into the correct tenant/directory and has the appropriate Billing Account/Billing Profile permissions.
    • Since a ticket was already raised over one week ago, update/escalate the existing case rather than opening multiple duplicate cases.
    • Clearly state that the locked billing condition is impacting access to Microsoft 365 Business applications and request urgent billing/account reactivation.
    • If the ticket cannot be accessed or progressed, use the Microsoft Billing Support route and provide the existing support request/case ID.
