Account deleted by a hacker

I am contacting you on behalf of a friend who has lost access to her Microsoft account.

She signed in to her Microsoft account on a new computer and used the account normally in Windows. The following day, she found that the account had been signed out.

When she tried to sign in again, she received a message stating that the Microsoft account does not exist.

She did not delete the account herself, did not request its removal, and did not knowingly make any changes that could have caused this.

We are concerned that the computer may have been compromised shortly before this happened. She had connected a USB device that she received as a free accessory with an online purchase from China. It appeared to be a simple USB adapter, but we are worried that it may have contained malicious software or otherwise provided unauthorized access to the computer.

Because of this, we are concerned that someone may have gained access to her computer, email, or Microsoft account and changed the account details, removed the account, or otherwise interfered with access.

She is unable to contact Microsoft Support directly from her own account because she was informed that, since she no longer has access to the account, she must either contact support through the Microsoft account of someone she knows or create a temporary account. For that reason, I am contacting you on her behalf using my account.

We would appreciate your help in determining what happened to the account, whether there were any suspicious changes or security events, and whether the account can be recovered.

Please let us know what information or verification is required to prove ownership and restore access to the account.

    Hello,

Welcome to the Microsoft Outlook Community

Good afternoon  . I'm sorry for what happened. I understand the concern, especially when the attacker changes the alias, password, or security information used to recover the account.

When a Microsoft account is compromised and recovery methods have changed, access can become more difficult. For security and privacy reasons, the Microsoft Community does not have access to the accounts or tools necessary to retrieve or change security information on behalf of the owner.

The first step is to use Microsoft's official recovery procedure:

How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account

If the recovery procedure does not allow you to regain access, you can also check the service options available from Microsoft Support:

    Contact Microsoft Support

    1. Go to the support page and select Get Help Click here! .

2.Let them know that you need help with account security.

    3. Follow the options presented to check if there is chat support or another channel available for your case.

4.f contact with an agent is offered, follow the guidelines provided during the service.

5.Availability of contact channels may vary by product, region, and time. If an option is not available, please try again later.

Important: Don't share your password, security codes, full email address, or other personal information here. This data isn't necessary for us to guide you in the community.

I hope these guidelines will help direct the recovery of the account. If you encounter any difficulties, please let us know at which stage the procedure stopped and what message was presented, without including sensitive information.

When possible, return to report the result. Your feedback can also help other users who are facing a similar situation.
