Experiencing a problem involving credit cards and payment.

Hello, You can always go to the store and buy a gift card. You can find these gift cards almost every where. Some gas statioins, Walmart, costco, grocery stores, best buy, game stop. The odd issue maybe that the credit card brand is not allowed on xbox. I dont know what brand your useing but that might be the reasion. Also there are odd geo locatioin restrictions on credit cards. Try the gift card route.

You need to talk to Microsoft, not this group. If you were using the Microsoft Store to make the purchase, then go back and look for links that are provided for getting help. There should be one for purchases. You may have to use the search box in Microsoft Store that is provided.

Look at your account too. Example image below. This is found looking at the Microsoft Store and your account.

Who issued your card, contact them and see what is going on and ask why your card did not work for the purchase. Phone numbers should be on the back of the card.

Have you tried using a different card just to check? To confirm, are you making an in-app purchase?

If you are making an in-app purchase, the first option is to contact the app support team to check the error. If there is still an error, contacting your bank will be the next option.

You can add your credit card to your Microsoft account wallet at

account.microsoft.com/billing/payments

Then you can select it when making payments. Your credit card information will auto-fill.

Make sure your Microsoft account is secure. Set up Windows Hello and use passkeys to sign into your account.
