Hello

Where can I OneDrive Activities Log files which can be retrieved from the completion of the sync users data from their local machine to OneDrive Site.

I want to know following information

  1. how much time took for sync,
  2. what are the new files are uploaded to OneDrive?
  3. During the Sync process if which large files are taking time?
  4. When sync is started and whne it is completed?

I saw some files in "C: \ Users \ "UserName" \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft \ Office \ Spw \ logs" folder with .ETL file extensions. I am not sure what kind of files and how to open these files?

I know user related activities from Office 365 admin reports, but I want to show this to user machine?

Is there any way to achieve this thru scripting or any other way?

Please advise

Hi Avian2,

For end users, it’s not feasible to see the OneDrive Activities Log files on local computers. The .etl logs are used to troubleshooting the OneDrive issue by the related team. We can’t view the logs by ourselves.

As a workaround, we can use the new OneDrive sync client as we can see some sync status via clicking the OneDrive icon like below.

In addition, we can also go to the Office 365 portal and click OneDrive to go to your OneDrive for Business library and go to Site settings > Storage Metrics under Site Collection Administration > Documents and click Last Modified column to get the Modified status about your sync library.

Regarding your requirement, we would also suggest you vote this UserVoice or share your ideas on it as this is the best way to improve the product. Many features have been designed or upgraded based on our customers' constructive comments.

Thanks for your understanding.

Allan

You can pull synchronization activities from the audit log either in the UI or automated with PowerShell. This you could filter down to the computer if you want.
