Activation code for Office 2007

I originally bought the Office software and after I upgraded to Office 365, I gave the disc to an 84 year old friend for his use.

He does not have internet access and cannot activate the software, after upgrading his computer he cannot access Word and Excel without an activation code. We had an activation code for the old computer but that no longer works on the new computer. Please provide me with and activation code so that he can continue to use the Office software that he uses and is familiar with. Regards Daqvid Croft

Hello David Croft,

I understand that your friend would like to continue using the familiar Office 2007 applications after changing computers.

Microsoft Q&A cannot generate or provide a new activation code for Office 2007. To reinstall Office 2007, you must have the original installation disc and the matching 25-character product key.

Since the traditional automated telephone activation process has moved online, please use the Microsoft Product Activation Portal:

  1. Open the Office 2007 Activation Wizard and choose the telephone activation option so that the Installation ID is displayed.
  2. On another device with internet access, open the Product Activation Portal.
  3. Sign in and choose Activate a Microsoft Product.
  4. Enter the Installation ID shown on the Office 2007 computer.
  5. If the request is approved, enter the provided Confirmation ID in the Office Activation Wizard.

Signing in to the portal is only used to validate access. It does not associate the Office 2007 license with that Microsoft account.

If the original product key is invalid, blocked, or not transferable to the upgraded computer, the portal may be unable to activate it. Microsoft does not issue replacement product keys through this forum. Since Office 2007 is also no longer supported or receiving security updates, a currently supported version of Office should be considered if activation cannot be completed.
