This is a school/work account that I no longer have access to. It needs to be deleted. How do I delete a Microsoft account I no longer have access to? An error message from Microsoft keeps popping up on my computer when I try to delete said account. This was a university account. I no longer work at this university. I have reached out to my former IT department but they said I had to reach out to Microsoft to have it remove the account since it's been deactivated for several years.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

In the screenshot, you are in Accounts > Email accounts. Instead,

Could you please go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school and try removing the work/school account from there?

Also, you forgot to hide your @gmail.com address in the screenshot. Please remove the screenshot or hide your email address to avoid exposing personal information (PII).
