Hello, I need assistance removing an orphaned Azure AD organisation from my personal Microsoft account.

My personal Microsoft account appears to still be associated with my former work organisation RSPB.org.uk (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds). The organisation no longer recognises my account, and I am unable to remove the association myself because all relevant Microsoft pages redirect me to a work login that fails.

Symptoms and errors:

Attempting to access mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info redirects me to a work login page that I cannot complete.

Attempting to access myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations also redirects to a work login and blocks access.

Attempting to access account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com returns the message: “You can only access this site with a work account. Sign out to log in with another account.”

I cannot reach any Azure AD or organisation‑management pages because they all force me into a work account sign‑in that no longer exists.

Outlook repeatedly offers the old RSPB.org.uk work account during sign‑in, even though it has been removed from my device and browser.

Impact:

I am currently unable to access my emails through Outlook, because the sign‑in flow keeps redirecting to the defunct RSPB.org.uk work account.

My Gmail address is currently the primary login for Outlook, which complicates the situation further and prevents me from accessing my personal Outlook mailbox.

This is causing a complete loss of access to my email via Outlook, so I would greatly appreciate an early resolution.

Request:

From extensive CoPilot guidance, this appears to be a classic case of an orphaned Azure AD tenant membership attached to a personal Microsoft account. I need Microsoft Support to:

Please remove the old RSPB.org.uk Azure AD organisation from my personal Microsoft account on the backend, so that my account becomes a normal consumer‑only Microsoft account again.

Once this is done, I should be able to sign in normally, access Outlook, and stop the forced work‑account redirects.

Thank you very much for your help.

Please sign into https://portal.azure.com

Then click on Manage Entra ID

Then click on Manage tenants.

Do you see the organization listed? If so, check th box and click on "Leave".

To remove an orphaned Azure AD organization from your personal Microsoft account, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you are unable to access the necessary management pages due to the redirection to a work account, your best option is to reach out to Microsoft Support directly. Explain your situation clearly, mentioning that your personal account is still associated with the old RSPB.org.uk organization and that you cannot access any Azure AD management pages.
    2. Provide Necessary Information: When contacting support, provide them with your personal Microsoft account details and any relevant information about the RSPB.org.uk organization. This will help them assist you more effectively.
    3. Request Manual Removal: Specifically request that they manually remove the association of your personal account with the RSPB.org.uk Azure AD organization. This should revert your account back to a normal consumer-only Microsoft account.
    4. Follow Up: If you do not receive a timely response, consider following up with Microsoft Support to ensure your request is being processed.

This process should help you regain access to your Outlook without the interference of the old work account.
