I have an MSN email address and Microsoft 365 Personal. Do I still need to maintain my MSN Dial Up Internet Access if I only use Wifi access to Internet? Moved from: Microsoft 365 and Office | Access | For home | Other

Hello b lego,

Thank you for reaching out in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you want to confirm whether you can remove MSN Dial‑Up Internet Access without affecting your MSN email while using Microsoft 365 Personal over Wi‑Fi only.

To clarify this, please note the following:

  • MSN Dial‑Up Internet Access is only an internet connection service and is not required for email usage.
  • MSN email is linked to your Microsoft account and works over any active internet connection.
  • Microsoft 365 Personal supports email access via Wi‑Fi, broadband, or mobile data without any dependency on dial‑up services.

Based on this, you can safely remove MSN Dial‑Up Internet Access if you no longer use it. Doing so will not impact your ability to access your MSN email or use Microsoft 365 services while connected via Wi‑Fi.

Let me know if you need further clarification.

If you are using Wi-Fi access to the Internet and do not require the MSN Dial Up Internet Access for any specific services, you may not need to maintain it. Since you have Microsoft 365 Personal, you can access your email and other services through your Wi-Fi connection without relying on the dial-up service. However, if you have any specific needs or services that require dial-up, you might want to consider keeping it. Otherwise, you can discontinue the dial-up service if Wi-Fi meets all your needs.
