MS says 'Age Don't Match from Info Given from Your Account' EVEN THOUGH the age that I've put is same to the account's age

(Please understand that I'm not from English-speaking countries, so there might be some grammatic mistakes)

Hi, I'm a user in South Korea. And in South Korea, I need to verify my age to play xbox games, such as Minecraft.

I had the problem saying 'The age you've verified and the age provided from your Microsoft account does not match', so I've updated my birth age to ACTUAL birth age, and progressed again. But, unfortunately, the freaking page still says update my age on account.microsoft.com or get permission from parents to change my account's age. To add, I'm not in the Microsoft Family Safety, as me is the only one that is in the list.

So what I'm asking is that, what on earth is it happening to age verification? What are the reasons and solutions to the problem where it keeps saying 'info from your ms account and your verified age does not match' even the information that I've put to verify my age and the birth date info from my MS account are both same?

Hi @MikuMikuBeaaam,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I am sorry for the inconvenience you might have. Based on your sharing, it is taxing to ensure all your account details are accurate, only to be met with a persistent error message stating that your information does not match.

To resolve this discrepancy, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined below:

Step 1: Verify regional and profile consistency

The age verification system requires a perfect match between your legal verification method and your digital profile.

  • Log into account.microsoft.com and navigate to "Your Info."
  • Confirm that your Country or region is set strictly to South Korea.
  • Ensure your Date of Birth exactly matches the identification you are using for the I-PIN/PASS verification.

Step 2: Allow for server propagation (wait 24–48 hours)

When you modify a birth date on a Microsoft account, the change will be shown save successfully on the web, but it can take 24 to 48 hours for that data to synchronize with the Xbox Live gaming servers. If you attempt to verify your age immediately after changing your profile, the system will likely still see your previous data, triggering the mismatch error.

Step 3: Clear browser cache or use incognito mode

Your web browser may be storing "cookies" or cached data from your previous failed attempts.

Step 4: Check for Family safety Interference

If your account was ever flagged as a "child" account, it might still be restricted even if you are now the only member of your Family Group.

  • Visit family.microsoft.com.
  • If your account is listed as a member rather than an organizer, or if there are lingering restrictions, the age verification may fail regardless of the birth date provided.

If the issue remains unresolved after you have completed these steps and allowed 48 hours for the system to synchronize, I highly recommend reaching out to Xbox Support directly for further investigation. Their specialized team can manually review your account's verification status and address any persistent regional data mismatches that may be preventing your access.
