I registered an account with Microsoft for my church "PEI Church" (www.peichurch.org) under this email address ******@peichurch.org a few years ago. I think the type of account I registered is a for family use. My church is not a small size one with about 60 members. We do not have any paid staff except our pastor. So far there are about 3 devices using MS Office, perhaps 4 as max. Usually we use WORD, EXCEL and occasionally POWERPOINT. We do not use others. I got an email notification of annual fee increase drastically gone up from $109 to $145. I would like to apply for a discount on my church account under ******@peichurch.org. Please kindly advise how to convert this account to a charity status entitled for a discount. Thanks!

Hello,

The product you are using now is for home users, not for organization users, so nonprofit pricing will not apply to the current subscription you are using.

If you have registration paperwork that can prove that you are nonprofit organization, you can apply for a nonprofit account with Microsoft to receive certain free products and discount.

You can start it from here, and go through eligibility check, etc. https://nonprofit.microsoft.com/en-us/getting-started

I just registered a non-profit account for my church. I passed the eligibility pre-check and uploaded 2 documents, they are CRA document with BN no. and an annual return to the provincial government with the church registration no. All the steps were done. I was told I need to wait for 7 days. Please let me know if I would get the subscription fee waived or discounted without changing the product plan. Any idea of discount %? Would I be requested to change the type of MS 365 product plan in order to enjoy the benefit? Thanks!

To convert your Microsoft 365 account to a charity status and apply for discounts, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Check Eligibility: First, ensure that your church qualifies as a nonprofit organization. Microsoft offers discounts and grants specifically for eligible nonprofits.
    2. Visit the Nonprofit Hub: Go to the Nonprofit Hub where you can run an eligibility pre-check. This will help you determine if your organization qualifies for nonprofit offers.
    3. Register Your Organization: If your church is eligible, you can begin the process of registering your organization. You may need to sign in with your existing Microsoft account or create a new one specifically for your nonprofit.
    4. Claim Offers: Once registered and approved, you can claim the available offers and discounts for Microsoft 365. This may include reduced pricing on licenses and access to additional tools that can help your church operate more efficiently.
    5. Contact Support: If you encounter any issues or have specific questions about your account, you can submit a support request through the contact form available on the Nonprofit Hub.

By following these steps, you should be able to transition your account to a nonprofit status and take advantage of the discounts available to organizations like yours.
