i have had Microsoft for many years. i am retired now and only use my software maybe once a month to balance my checkbook or write a litter. $99 a year is a lot for that. what can i do to just get those two programs.

Hi, thank you for reaching out. Do you need the latest versions of Word and Excel, or will basic features work? Microsoft lets you buy Word and Excel as one-time purchases instead of a subscription, or you can use the free online versions at Office.com for simple tasks like balancing a checkbook or writing letters. You can check Microsoft’s website to compare standalone prices and see which option fits your needs.
