OneDrive Storage is showing full

I have subscribed to 365 and have 1TB of cloud storage.

I have used less than 1% of 1TB and it's telling me my storage is full.

There are red crosses against all new documents!

How do I fix this?

Hello Christine Waters,

Thank you for the update and confirming the details.

Since the reset command returned "Windows cannot find onedrive.exe", it's likely that your OneDrive app is the Microsoft Store version which uses a different path.

Press Win + R then try this path: C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftOneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

Or if OneDrive was installed per-machine: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\MicrosoftOneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

Try these steps to unlink and re-linking your PC: right-click the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar > Settings > open the Account tab > click Unlink this PC > sign out of OneDrive > then sign back in with your Microsoft 365 account (the one with 1TB storage).

If you still see the issue, please reinstall OneDrive from the latest version: Download OneDrive

    Hello,

I have checked my account - it is correct: my account.png

    I have done the following:

Please try to reset OneDrive Cache:

    • Press Win + R, type: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
    • Press Enter. This clears corrupted cache that can cause false “full” errors.

and get the following error message: Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\lynch\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe’ Make sure you’ve typed the name correctly, then try again

I have tried several times and get the same message every time.

On my Local Disk I have used 81.1GB and have 156GB free space

I have done this: In OneDrive settings, sign out, restart the PC, then sign back in to refresh sync status.

I cannot work out how to do this: Unlink the PC from OneDrive and re-link it: Settings > Account > Unlink this PC, then set up OneDrive again.

Please advise - thank you :)

    Hello Christine Waters,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you're frustrated because OneDrive shows “storage full” even though less than 1% of the 1 TB quota is used, and new documents have red crosses.

Make sure you signed in with the correct Microsoft 365 account that has the 1 TB storage. Go to OneDrive settings > Account and confirm the subscription.

Please try to reset OneDrive Cache:

    • Press Win + R, type: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
    • Press Enter. This clears corrupted cache that can cause false “full” errors.

Ensure the local drive where OneDrive syncs has enough free space. If the disk is full, OneDrive will block new files even if cloud storage is available.

In OneDrive settings, sign out, restart the PC, then sign back in to refresh sync status.

Unlink the PC from OneDrive and re-link it: Settings > Account > Unlink this PC, then set up OneDrive again.

If issue persists, visit this link and follow instructions: Fix OneDrive sync problems
