Unable to access shared OneDrive files when logged in, but works in Incognito mode

My friend shared some files/folders with me from their personal Microsoft account. However, I cannot access them when I'm logged into my own Microsoft account. I keep getting an error saying the item may have been deleted, expired, or I don't have permission.

What I've tested:

When I open the same shared link in Incognito mode (not logged in), it opens fine.
As soon as I log in with my account, it fails.
Some files shared by the same person work, but others don't.

What I've tried:

· Checked the shared folder in my OneDrive "Shared" section — it doesn't appear there.

· Asked the sender to re-share directly by entering my email address, but it still doesn't work.

By the way, the sender is using a personal Microsoft account too, not a business account. And some of their files work for me, so it's not a total block.

The fact that the link works in Incognito while signed out suggests that it may be an“Anyone with the link” link, while your normal browser session is attempting to open it under an account that does not match the granted permission.

Please try this:

Sign out of all Microsoft accounts in the affected browser.
Clear cookies and site data for Microsoft and OneDrive, then restart the browser.
Open the link and sign in using the exact personal Microsoft account address that the sender entered. If your account has multiple aliases, verify which address is used to sign in.
Ask the sender to open Manage access, remove your existing permission and old link, then create a completely new Specific people link using that exact address.

A Specific people link only works when the recipient authenticates as the account named by the sender
