Hello. My Microsoft account was compromised after I ran a malicious file on my computer. The computer has already been formatted and I recovered the account password. I can still log in normally.

However, the intruder changed the primary login address of the account to @milieuwell.com , which does not belong to me. My email @gmail.com only appears as a communication option.

I can't remove the attacker's address or change the primary alias because Microsoft sends the verification codes to that email, which isn't mine.

I request assistance in restoring my email as the primary login address and removing the address added by the intruder. I can prove that I am the account owner.

@milieuwell.com is not my email mine is gmail.com he change my email address so i can't login because I got a virus file and that is what happened. Help, Microsoft!

    Hi Gordon Cheang,

I understand how concerning this situation is. Although you have successfully regained access to the account and changed the password, you cannot restore your email address as the primary sign-in alias because the verification codes are being sent to an address added by the unauthorized person.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access accounts, verify ownership, or modify account aliases and security information.

Since the account requires verification through an address that you do not control, I recommend using Microsoft's account recovery resources for compromised accounts. Review the guidance in How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account and use the Sign-in Helper to check the recovery options available for your account.

You can also try contacting Microsoft Support via live chat for further assistance:

    1. Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account Security" and press Enter.
    3. Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.
    4. Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.
    5. When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".
    6. For the category, choose "Manage Account Security".
    7. Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
    8. When prompted, provide a valid contact email where Microsoft can reach you regarding your case.
    9. Explain your situation clearly: Be concise but provide all the relevant details.

For security and privacy reasons, support representatives must follow the account-verification process and cannot bypass security checks or directly modify protected account details.

Please do not post full email addresses, verification codes, passwords, or other personal account information in this public thread.

I hope you are able to regain full control of the account through the recovery process.
