To whom it may concern,

My problem is that the Office 2024 was bought and installed in my old MacBook on 21 May, but my new Macbook was bought on 11 July. Am I right to say according to the regulations it needs to be 90 days before I can transfer the Office 2024 to the new Macbook? At the mean time, I purchased the monthly Microsoft 365 and hoping that I can install the Office 2024 in my new Macbook on 21 August. Or it's possible that I can install it earlier?

Hello ,

I understand you changed your device, and you are unable to use Office 2024 on your new device. I'll be providing some steps for you to follow to ensure you are able to use Office 2025 on your new device.

Office 2024 is a standalone license which can be used on one device at a time. To fully remove Office license from your old device fully,

Download and run the license removal tool on your Old Mac

1. Download the license removal too using this link https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=849815
2. Open the .pkg file from your Mac's Downloads folder.
3. Select Continue and follow the prompts in the setup wizard.
4. When you're ready to complete the license removal, select Install. You may need to enter your Mac's local admin account password.
5. After the tool successfully removes licenses, select Close.
6. Uninstall the License Removal Tool by dragging the Microsoft_Office_License_Removal file from Finder > Downloads to Trash,

Download and Install Office 2024 on Your New Mac

1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services.
2. Sign in with the Microsoft account linked to your Office 2024 license.
3. Click Install Office and download the installer.
4. Run the installer and complete the setup.

Activate Office on your new Mac

1. Open Word or Excel.
2. When prompted, sign in with your Microsoft account.
3. If activation doesn’t happen automatically, go to:
