Digital Signature Failure - No response for 4 days (App ID: <PII removed>)

Hello,

My app (ID: <PII removed>) failed certification with "digital signature failure" 4 days ago. I emailed reportapp@microsoft.com immediately but haven't received any human response yet (only the auto-reply).

The package itself is validated. Could someone please help escalate this? The app is ready to go and this is blocking my release.

Developer email: <PII removed>

Thank you.

Hello @jzm ,

Even if your package passes local validation (e.g., via the Windows App Certification Kit), the Store applies its own signature checks server-side.

  • Make sure the package was created using "Create App Packages → I want to create packages to upload to the Microsoft Store" in Visual Studio — not a locally self-signed build accidentally submitted
  • Confirm the Publisher identity in your Package.appxmanifest matches exactly what's listed in Partner Center under your app's identity settings
  • Make sure no third-party or test certificate was used — Store submissions rely on the certificate association done through Partner Center itself

For your situation, the right channel is Partner Center support directly.

  1. Sign in to Partner Center
  2. Click the "?" (Help) icon at the top right
  3. Select "Contact Support" and choose "App submission & certification" as the issue type
  4. Fill in your App ID, describe the digital signature failure, and attach any relevant screenshots or certification reports
  5. You'll get a case number and can track it from the Partner Center dashboard

The official guidance on this process is documented in Get help and contact support in Partner Center.

"Could someone please help escalate this?"

I would suggest, in your case, including the following in your support ticket to speed things up: your App ID, the exact certification failure message, the submission date, and a note that it's been 4 days without a resolution. Being specific reduces the back-and-forth. If you're enrolled in a Microsoft Advanced Support for Partners plan, that channel will get you a faster escalation path as described in the escalation documentation here.

If the package checks out on your end and you've already opened a proper Partner Center ticket, the next step is just patience and following up on that ticket — but reaching out through the correct channel first is what matters most here.

I hope this clarifies. If my answer was helpful, I would appreciate if you could follow this guide to provide a feedback.

Thank you.
