Hello everyone,
I'm looking for advice from the community or a moderator because I believe my Microsoft account may have been compromised, and I'm unable to recover it.
I used this Microsoft account for Minecraft and had purchased several games with it:
Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC, purchased with a bank card.
Minecraft Dungeons, purchased using gift card balance.
Minecraft Dungeons II, also purchased using gift card balance.
I spent my own money on these games, so losing access to the account also means losing access to my purchases.
What happened
On the day I lost access, I signed in to minecraftservershq.com using my Microsoft account. At around 6 PM (UTC+3), I left home. When I returned at around 10 PM, I discovered that I had been signed out and could no longer access my account.
When I tried to sign in, I noticed that the email address associated with the account appeared to have been changed to an Outlook address that resembles my Minecraft username. Microsoft now asks me to send a verification code to a masked address ending in @msaccountsafety.com (shown as something like fr*****@msaccountsafety.com). I don't recognize this address and cannot access it.
I have tried the official Microsoft account recovery form several times:
https://account.live.com/acsr
However, every attempt has been rejected because Microsoft says I haven't provided enough information to verify ownership.
Unfortunately, I experienced a similar situation with another account in the past and was unable to recover it. That makes this situation especially worrying.
What I've tried and what I need help with
I still have access to the original Gmail address I used with my Microsoft account. I may also be able to find purchase receipts and other information that could help establish ownership.
Does anyone know if there is another official way to report a compromised Microsoft account when the recovery form repeatedly fails? Can Minecraft Support investigate the stolen account or help verify my ownership of the Minecraft games I purchased?
I understand that account security is important, and I'm not asking anyone to bypass Microsoft's security measures. I just want to know what legitimate options remain when the recovery process doesn't work.
Any advice from someone who has experienced this or from a moderator would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading.
