Hello Onurcan Artcı,
Thank you for posting question on Microsoft Windows Forum!
You can still upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 using Microsoft’s official Media Creation Tool, as long as your Windows 7 copy is legally activated. The upgrade will keep your files and programs, but some drivers or apps may need updates afterward.
However, there are several points needed to keep in mind before performing the upgrade.
- Back up your files first anb save documents, photos, and videos to an external drive or cloud (OneDrive, Google Drive). This protects against data loss during installation.
- Verify whether your PC meets Windows 10 requirements. It requires at least 1 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit, and 32 GB storage for newer Windows 10 versions. For more information about the requirement. Please visit this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-system-requirements-6d4e9a79-66bf-7950-467c-795cf0386715
- For downloading Microsoft’s Windows 10 installation tool and the necessary upgrading steps. Please refer to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
- After installation. Check your PC manufacturer’s site for updated drivers. Also for performance on old hardware. If your computer is from 2013, upgrading RAM or storage may be necessary.
Please note: Windows 7 support ended on January 14, 2020, and Windows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025. That means both systems are now out of Microsoft support, so they no longer get normal security updates or technical assistance. If your hardware allows, consider moving to Windows 11 later for longer support.
