Hello,

I successfully verified my student status using my official university document (e-Devlet / Turkish government student certificate). The verification was approved and my account is now recognized as eligible for the “Microsoft 365 Student 12-month free + 50% discount” offer.

However, I cannot start the subscription.

After I select my Visa card and click the continue/confirm button, the checkout page instantly redirects to an error message:

“A problem occurred on our side. Please try again later.”

This happens every single time, on:

different browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)

different devices (mobile + laptop)

incognito mode

after clearing cookies & cache

after trying both TR and US marketplaces

Nothing works — the checkout flow always breaks at the same step.

It seems like there is a stuck or corrupted checkout session / pending subscription on my account which prevents the subscription from starting.

Could someone from the Microsoft team please reset my checkout session or remove the pending subscription entry from the backend?

My Microsoft account email: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

Student verification date: 07.12.2025

Thank you very much.

    Hi @Mehmet Arın Cengizm,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, your student verification is complete and eligible for the Microsoft 365 Student offer, but the subscription does not start because checkout ends with the message “A problem occurred on our side. Please try again later.” We appreciate the thorough steps you have already taken across browsers, devices, private sessions, cache cleanup, and both TR and US marketplaces.

This behavior can occur when a previous checkout attempt leaves a stale commerce token or a pending order on the account. It can also happen when the marketplace region or billing profile does not fully match the verification region, or when the payment provider declines the initial authorization behind the scenes. These conditions stop the subscription from being created even though verification is complete.

To resolve this quickly and accurately, we’ll need to involve Microsoft’s Billing Support team, as they have the tools to review your account, confirm the charges, and process any necessary refunds. Since your account is managed by your school, you can reach out to your school’s IT department for assistance. If the issue cannot be resolved internally, your IT administrator can submit a support request directly to Microsoft Billing team for backend assistance.

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center using your admin credentials.
    • If you don’t have admin permissions, please contact your organization’s IT administrator to submit support ticket on your behalf.
    1. Open Help & Support:
    • Click the green Help & Support button, usually located at the bottom-right corner of the Admin Center dashboard.
    • This will open the support pane.
    1. Search for assistance:
    • In the search bar, type “I need to check and reset my subscription.”
    1. Set preferences & submit
    • Choose your contact method, time zone, and language. Provide details of the issue (attach files if needed), then click Contact me.

To help the support team assist you quickly, please have the following ready:

    • Invoice number or reference
    • Subscription ID (if applicable)

The support team may be able to reissue the invoice depending on your account type and region.

Or you can contact them via phone number to Microsoft Support: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support - Select your country/region own phone number for support.

Looking forward to your response and wishing you a great day ahead.
