Hi, I understand how inconvenient it is when you can’t access your files.
The error usually happens because the USB has an autorun script or a VBS file that Windows Script Host is trying to run, but either the script is corrupted, or the host is disabled in your system settings.
Let’s start with a quick check: can you still see the files when you open the USB in File Explorer, or does the error pop up immediately?
If you can access the drive, look for any autorun.inf or strange .vbs files and delete them.
Also, run a full antivirus scan on the USB and your PC to rule out malware.
If the error appears right away, try running chkdsk X: /f in Command Prompt, replacing X with your USB drive letter, to repair the file system.
One more thing, have you recently changed any registry settings or installed security software that might have disabled Windows Script Host?
That could be part of the issue.
Let me know what you find, and we’ll go from there.
Regards,
Aron
