I think you should try these steps and let me know the result :
- First, some basic checks
- Check internet connection: Updates need a stable connection, ideally without VPN/proxy during update.
- Free up disk space: Make sure you have at least 20 GB free on your system drive (C:).
- Verify date & time: Incorrect system time can block updates.
- Run the built-in Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
- Run Windows Update troubleshooter.
- It will attempt to reset components and fix common errors automatically.
- Reset Windows Update components manually
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin).
- Run these commands one by one:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
net stop cryptsvc
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start bits
net start cryptsvc
- Restart your PC and check Windows Update again.
- Try installing via Microsoft Update Catalog
- Check for system file issues
Run:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
=> This fixes corrupted system files that often block updates.
- If updates still won’t install
- Try using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from Microsoft’s website. It will manually upgrade your system to the latest build.
- Or, use Media Creation Tool → Upgrade this PC now.
