Använda nya Outlook i Windows för personlig e-post, kalender och kontakthantering
Thanks for sharing the details, Britt-Inger! You're exactly right! In Outlook, the preview pane for Excel files often shows an OLD cached version, even when the actual attached file is correct.
This is normal, and here’s what actually happens:
When you attach an Excel file:
- Outlook makes a temporary cached copy in its SecureTemp folder.
The previewer always uses that cached file.
If you re-attach a file with the same name, Outlook does NOT update the preview copy, so you see the old version.
- But when you choose Open in Excel, Outlook downloads the real attachment, which contains your correct changes.
So the problem is the preview, not your file. It never refreshes unless:
- You completely close and reopen Outlook
- Or you rename the file before reattaching
- Or you clear Outlook’s SecureTemp folder (advanced)
See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.
Best regards,
Kimberly
