Disabled functions after update of Outlook for Mac

I just updated Outlook to version 16.102. After updating the thesaurus function disappeared and there is no longer any possibility to alt-click for synonyms etc. Also, when typing an e-mail address, it doesn't automatically converts to a clickable link. What is wrong and is there any way around this problem?

Thanks for reaching out. I understand how frustrating it is to lose useful features like the thesaurus and automatic hyperlinking after updating Outlook for Mac to version 16.102.

This change seems to be part of the new Outlook experience, where some formatting tools have been removed or relocated. Microsoft has noted that email addresses may not turn into clickable links while composing, but they should appear as hyperlinks once the message is sent. The thesaurus feature also appears to be missing in this version.

You can try switching back to Legacy Outlook from the Outlook menu, which may restore those missing features. You could also try installing an earlier version like 16.100, where those features were still working.
