Yes, those are the two settings I have used (in Swedish of course).

I couldn't find anything about Profiles and Device Mgmg under Settings / Genereal.

But it is my private iPad, no organization or MDM software involved, to my knowledge.

I have removed OneDrive app, changed the settings like your picture again. turned the ipad off and on.

Then I started OneNote, and nothing happens, except that the icon on a white background is there. Microsoft at the bottom of the screen.

Then I double-clicked, and saw that OneNote was there. Clicked on it, and then after a few seconds, it is back (it seems) the the old behaviour.

It just blinks and disappears immediately.

Still hasn't been asked to login.

Double-click, and close: after that it starts and immediately disappears (active).

Installed Onedrive again: it seems ok (OneDrive, that is)

I clicked on one of the OneNote books in the OneDrive list: OneNote opens and closes immediately, as before.

Is there any more information I can collect to help solve this mystery?

    Hi Jan,

Could you please confirm that you have set the OneNote reset option as shown in below screenshot?

To further isolate the issue, could you please try uninstalling OneDrive app and try again. Before you uninstall OneDrive app, make sure that all files are synced on your OneDrive app to cloud.

Also, May I know if your iPad managed by your organisation? Or do you use any ”Mobile Device Management” (MDM) software?

    About MDM: https://support.apple.com/en-sg/guide/mdm/mdmbf...

You could check MDM profile settings using these steps:

Go to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management.

Now, I have closed all notebooks in desktop.

I have deleted  I could find all from Recycle bin.

I have one open Notebook on desktop only.

Still same result when I uninstall/reinstall/delete/close/open OneNote app.

(Also when all notebooks were closed on the pc)

I think a major problem might be that I don't get a chance to login again, even after resetting OneNote in the settings, as you descibed in item 4 at the top,

Maybe that should be investigated and solved first?

I am not too keen yet on resetting my iPad via iTunes.

I am not sure the desktop computer has enough space to do that.

So I'd prefer to investigate further why the app has been so corrupt, so it even can't start without any open Notebooks at all.

Or is there no connection between iPad OneNote app and the OneNote for Windows 10 on the PC?

Which notebooks does the app on iPad try to open now , if any?

Is there no way to reset OneNote app completely, so it will start completely from the beginning, asking fpr login and where to look for notebooks? (Except for the item 4)

    Hi Jan,

    I’m sorry about the issue.

There is a possibility that corrupted notebooks in your deleted notes might be causing this issue.

    1. In your iPhone, open the OneDrive sign into your account that you use to login on to OneNote
    2. Browser OneDrive's Recycle Bin, check for deleted notebooks
    3. Find the delete notebooks and remove them from the Recycle Bin

Also, If you have access to the OneNote desktop app, then please check if there is an issue opening any specific notebook.

If you still see the issue, the you might need to think resetting the iPad after taking backup of your personal data backup from iPad.

    Step 1- Delete OneNote App

Step 2- Backup Iphone to Itunes on laptop

Step 3- Go into Iphone Settings- General- Reset- Erase All Content and Settings

Step 4- Set up Iphone as new phone

Step 5- Download OneNote App and login(verified app worked)

Step 6- Restore Iphone from Itunes on laptop

    Regards

    Nik
