Auto connect to wifi setting keeps resetting to manual connect

Me and my brother both bought and have identical laptops with win 10.

Preinstalled but everything updated during the day with same programs, settings next to eachother.

We are both connected to wifi and set it to auto connect.

When I start my laptop it connects and I use my pin to login.

After 20-50 seconds it disconnects and the checkbox to auto connect is not checked any more. If I go into more details in the settings I can see it is set to manual connect. When clickinf troubleshoot I can see the same thing as a result and win fixes the issue but it resets again after next login about 20-sec later.

I have checked the settings with my brothers laptop and done the same actions, we have both tried to restart at same time with same settings but it is just my laptop that keeps disconnecting.

The house router and mesh have 2.4 and 5 sent out at the same time (not 2 different nets to connect to). Somethimes I see I connect to 3.4 and sometimes to 5 with the same result that it disconnects. Same for my brother but without the disconnects.

Tried restarting router and more in that but no problems with that.

I have tried in the settings to forget about the network, restarting the laptop and then connecting but same outcome. After 20-sec its like it it resets the connection and changes settings to manual connect. If I connect it to the wifi after it has disconnected it does not disconnect anymore until I restart and wait for about 20-50secs. So its just after I start it. Same if I do restart.

I have tried updating the driver for the card. I have the same version as the other laptop. So no luck there. Remember, it does connect when I start it, its after a few second, only after startup it forgets that the auto connect setting is there and disconnects.

    Thank you for the update.

To narrow down the source of the problem, please start Windows in Safe mode with Networking. Follow the steps here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

Once in Safe mode with Networking, see if you have the same problem.

    Hi

I tried restoro as a first tip in that link with no luck. The other parts on that list like power magement I have already tried.

I did test to connect to another router in the home (old one still active for certain cameras in the house) and was not disconnected after multiple restarts to test this. I then tested to connect (and save auto) to the Amplifi with mesh installed and restarted. Like before it first connected, then after awhile disconnected and connected to the old router. So I guess there is some problem talking to the amplifi router. Weird part is that the identical laptop does not have this problem at all. In fact, no other device in the house does this.

I will raise a support ticket to amplifi aswell but since no other device acts the same I still think there is something with this laptop. The amplifi does not have a separate id for 2.4 or 5. The old router only has 2.4. Could it be hardware issue with this laptop and 5ghz perhaps? But once again, its just on startup and not if I reconnect.

Edit: If the laptop connects to 5ghz (amplifi router having both active with same id) it disconnects after about 20-50seconds. If it connects to 2.4 (amplifi router having both active with same id) it does not. Could this be hardware error? Is it safe to uninstall the wifi hardware or will I not be able to reinstall without a connection? (remember, I have same driver as the identical other laptop that has no problems with 5ghz network)
