Hi, I just upgraded my internet to 1gbs, but my pc could still only use 100mbs. So I contacted my carrier(ComHem) for help and they told me that I should change the duplex setting to 1gbs, but when I do that my ethernet just disappears from my pc. I searched online and did not find any solution.

    try the following:

Continuing in the same window (where we saw the speed), we click on Properties.

Later, making sure that the Client for Microsoft networks option is checked, we click on Configure.

Now we have to go to Advanced Options and look for Speed & Duplex.

This is where we have to change the value. Most likely, if we have come this far, it is because it is configured as 100 Mbps Full Duplex. We must change it to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex and accept.

Now we have our network card configured to support speeds of up to 1Gbps. If it is compatible, we can connect at that speed or transfer data to a NAS hard drive, among other things.
