Upgrading Windows 7 -> 10 freezes at boot with IRQL error

Hello!

I just bought Windows 10 and choose to upgrade my Windows 7 and keep the files.
Now using an USB stick to boot from (bought from Microsoft's web site.

Now I'm stuck in the middle of the upgrade.
The computer boots and halts with a blue creen: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL.
The WIndows 7 seems to be somehow gone, so I can't restore it from the USB stick.
So I'm stuck at the start of a Windows 10 upgrade without option to go back and the Windows 10 freezes.

I manged get several options when I boot up with the USB stick:
Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Network, Command prompt, Debug Mode, etc.
But no matter what I choose, I will shortly after get a dialog that says:
"It seems you are booting from external media.
Choose Yes to remove the media and continue upgrade.
Choose No to do a clean insteall."
When I remove the media and press YES, the computer reboots again, now seemingly ignoring whatever safe/debug/command-prompt mode that I chose before, so I can't really debug and boot in safe mode! ... :-(

And it seems I can't get into Windows Recovery mode to choose the safe mode when the USB stick is unplugged from the computer.
So I'm stuck.

Can someone please help me how to either recover my WIndows 7 from the hard drive, or to be able to continue to upgrade to Windows 10. It's very annoying that the computer does not continue to boot in Safe Mode even though I choose that alternative. Instead it reboots again and "forgets" that mode.

Best Regards
/Christian Andersson

Please boot a PC from USB media, not from hard drive.

No, I can never see that menu.
I have followed the steps at Microsoft to reboot the device 3 times with the power button pressed for 10 seconds, and I never get this menu.
Do you know how I can get to this menu?
I have a feeling that my WIndows 10 never got far enough to reach this menu.
And there seems to be nothing on the USB stick that can take me to this menu.

I mean a menu when you boot from USB. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardwa...

    Hello Igor,
Well thank you, it would be fantastic if you can help.

    The freeze screens:

Or more often, this loader symbol is getting stuck after a while:

So I get into some kind of Boot Manager and choose 64 bit WIndows

Then it's loading files (probably from the USB stick)

Then getting some more advanced Safe-Mode screen:

... but here, there is no cancel upgrade option. Just boot options for WIndows 10
    ... well, I guess it's Windows 10 now and not Win7 anymore...

The problem: whatever I choose here, I get the following message soon after:

    Which says:
You started an upgrade and you started from some external install-media. Remove the install-media from the computer and click "Ja" = yes, if you want to continue the upgrade. (Which I want!)
Or click "No" if you want to do a clean insteall instead. (I don't want that!)

Now, when I click Yes and remove the USB stick with Win10 installation, the computer just reboots without the selected Safe-Mode and it freezes again. :-(

    Best Regards
    /Christian

You may try to undo upgrade during boot from USB. Or please show a photo of menu.
